Viper RTS: 2nd Battle Of Moscow '07 Trying his hand at a different format to command, Boomer secured his teams for the event. He planned his tactics with his main team Steel Reserve. Friday night would be the usual sitting around the fire talking to friends like Wild Bunch, Steel Reserve, Brutal Anguish, and even the sworn enemies like Sweeper from In Contempt. Even the famous “Blues Crew” made the trip to Sherwood for the game. It would be for the other side, the Chinese/Russians, but never the less they were there.
Saturday
From game on, the plan was to put a flag at every objective between us and the “50”. For the first part of the game, teams like Wild Bunch would be taking on a huge part of the game in trying to secure the Oil Refinery, also known as the Commons. New to that area was the 2nd story added on to the Octagon which plays a vital role in that part of the field. While Brutal Anguish took a flag down the right tape toward the EOD School, Steel Reserve sent guys around to the Spec Ops and Sniper school, which would be the hardest objectives to obtain and that they were. For the most part Saturday, our side kept the Oil Refinery and a couple of other places but never could lock down the key ones to earn the bonus MOS.
Saturday night
Saturday night went ok, Paco from Thunderstruck (playing solo without his team) tucked inside the command post waiting for someone to attack and sure enough they did and when they stepped inside he took them out. Pretty much the night play seemed to be pretty one sided with the Chinese/Russians causing havoc for our commander. So the stand down had been pre determined by the commanders Boomer from Akicita (Germans) and Thespis from the Region Rats (Chinese/Russians) at 10:30. As the bird banger went off, the teams made there way back to there camp to get some rest for Sunday's battle.
Sunday
The Chinese/Russians continued were they left off on Saturday dominating the 3 same stations and racking up valuable points, even keeping the Germans out of there base for almost an hour. The final 45 minutes of the game would take place at the refinery with the side that held it at the end or had the most players would receive a bonus to there score. It was hard fought battle, but the Germans just could not come up with enough points to secure the victory. |
